I was grinning like an idiot when I finished — the outcome felt so very earned.

Matty reminds me of some real people, where enormous talent is just not matched by a dedication and work ethic, and organizational I found myself pulled along by this book, both enjoying and annoyed by figure skater Matty Marcus and his attitudes, adventures and development.

I also loved the way that he trainig Matty — really saw him — and accepted everything about him without judgment. Their love was what I read for. The characters read true and I loved all the interactions between the different people in the story. See, I didn’t want to like Joshua with Lee but I did, Lee was so good for Joshua when he desperately needed it after losing Neil so suddenly and tragically. My quibble, when I really examined and distilled it down came to this: He has a generous soul, but he is exceedingly bad at showing it, aside from his complete and utter devotion to his work extending and bettering the quality of human life through nanite technology.
Because I would be lying. I admit there were tears, I wanted to hug esssion long and hard, as another reviewer said I loved Matty and Sessionn more than the story itself.

And like Will and Patrick in that series, Joshua and Neil may be imperfect, but they are perfect for each other. Rob and Matty are living in New York, in Rob’s small apartment. Yes, this is a story about reincarnation and finding one’s true love again. Matty’s escalating eating disorder issues are becoming the straw that might break them. Rob can barely breathe in the oppression of big city life and Matty will never be the best at anything in this city where the best of the best gather.
I saw this book flying across my Goodreads time line at super speed and knew it would be a book for me but I usually stay away from books when they are this popular. There’s only so much vacuuming, dishes, cleaning of trinkets with a toothbrush and lip gloss application I can take. The book is dragging its feet like a reluctant child. They meet as friends and both he and his boy eventually befriend both Rob and Matty, and through them both men find the path they need to take to emotional recovery.
I love the intensity of this book, the angst, the anguish and pain, the depth of their feelings and the way they fight for their HEA. The kink in this book was so well done.
BDSM can be harsh, but the sex scenes in this book are so incredibly well written and meaningful they never detract from the story. Rob Lovely is the handsome n Posted at Shelf Inflicted Matty Marcus is a very talented figure skater, but poor performance and an injury have kept him out of competition.
