Good story for middle school children. The story itself is cute, but upon reaching the end, it’s hard not to realize that the “big secret” of the book is actually not that big a deal at all, and that everything has just been overdramatized in a very adolescent fashion.

The baffling thing for Hans Thomas is that he stopped for the cake merely by chance, and chose to eat a sticky bun by chance – how kostein it possible that a tiny book from a random bun xia telling him things about his own life?
