It is a collection of four books that chronicle the adventures of Princess Cimorene. I must have read this years ago because I remembered all the stories.

These stories sit with you, call back to you, and it is always a pleasure to come back to them after years away, like greeting an old friend who has grown up enchantmenta along with you.

The final weede, “Notes from the Author,” was one of my favorite bits, with a fascinating rundown of Wrede’s inspiration for each of the stories. I’d like to find more of her writing in this style.

A very very fun little book with short stories. Their hope is that King Mendanbar and Queen Cimorene can figure out what to do with the thing. Not a fun story at all, but it is skillfully written. Wrede Snippet view – The Lorelei – I think I got more out of this one now that I’m older. He soon becomes a laughingstock, unable to live down his reputation.
